Elec Ign Switch Damage?

Can somebody please give more info on what you can and cant do as far as using a power pack to start your merc with EIS or using another car to jump start your EIS merc, or using your own EIS merc to jump start another car ect.
and if the switch is nackered will it not work at all or can it be intermitent.

With the 203 Do not go near another car without reading Collechells post in the DIY

For other cars, if you are jump starting some one else, join up the battery leads, wait a few mins, then start your car, then the other one.

For jump starting you, join up and wait a few mins, then start the Donner car, and then yours, just do not leave your key in the lock until ready to start

what about the EIS? blown. sometimes work, or if faulty never work. then l can rule this out.

One thing that you can do with an EIS switch is to leave the key in the ignition for up to 90 mins, and this does sometimes work,, make sure that the red end of the key is clean
