Electric aerial retracting only halfway

Hi,

My electric aerial only extends and retracts for the top half of it's travel. Do I need a whole new aerial (pricey) or might it be something else? Thanks.

Hi,

Mines the same as it has lost the teeth on the plastic reel that drives it up and down.

New arial needed on my car, I extended it and disconected the power to it to leave it fully up. (just an idea)

My local Wilco dealership provided a Maystar B1041 unit for about £24. Only problem was deciding just which of the mounting rubbers was the correct one!

Aerial at half-mast

Replacement masts for the the original Hirschmann aerials are available at a dealership at around £26. Just retract the aerial, undo the chrome locking ring, turn the radio on to activate the aerial and pull the whole aerial mast & white toothed belt out. To fit the new one feed the new mast's white belt into the aerial base, teeth rearmost, and turn the radio off to retract the aerial. Tighten up the chrome ring. Job done!

What is this obsession with buying cheap parts from GSF & the rest?
