Hello All -

Only the top and bottom sections of the electric arial emerge. I've tried WD40, but that hasn't freed it. Any suggestions please (other than replacement: radio reception is OK so I probably won't spend money unless it fails completely)

Cheers

Alan

Hi Alan

I assume you have original mast fitted. It just sounds tired

First you need to get in and have a look (you will need an assistant).

Replacement masts are available from the dealer for not too much money but, open it up first and make sure that the gear isn't broken. (From your symptoms I figure it will be OK). You don't want to waste your money on a mast you don't need. First you need to get in and have a look (you will need an assistant).

Once in there remove any broken bits of plastic tail and observe the gear mechanism, when your assistant turns the radio on and off - if it spins then the mast replacement is an option.

From what I understand replacement is easy and you just feed the new mast in plastic tail first and turn the radio off and it winds itself in (I believe instructions come with it)

Heres a couple of relevant forum postings:

Hope this helps - let us know how you get on.
