Hi All
Just after a bit of advice really. Our ML270 has electric folding mirrors. I was cleaning out the interior today and noticed that the passenger side door mirror seemed to be loose, it would move backwards and forwards about 3/8 inch. I Folded the mirrors, then unfolded them, and it now seems fine. There is no damage on it to suggest hit be a car or anything else.
Perhaps someone walked into it !!!!.
Is this normal ?, does the mirror have a "safety device" that when its knocked it unlocks itself to prevent damage, or is this a sign of something else going wrong. As i said, it is now secure, but i just wondered.

Cheers

Yes I think they're designed to do that , it happens to one or both mirrors every time I go through the car wash, first time it happened I thought the mirror was broken but closing and re-opening them sorted it. I think it's meant to prevent accidental damage if you accidentally clip something.
