Hi
I have an Intermittent Electric fault on my 1998 E240.

When ever ,I put on/change the signal indicator, it takes about 3-4 Secs before it come on , and when I cancel it ,it take 3-4 sec to cancel.

My Electric windows doesn't work, I have to keep pressing on/off to bring windows down or up.

Windscreen Wipers stops intermittently half way and then after while (2-3 Secs ) ,it will then started to work.

I have seen Andy's reply to a similar problem and replaced the Relay (part no A002 542 1319) on the fuse box, but no luck, it seems to have worked but after 5mins the problems came back.

I think, all these problems are related and seem to have started around the same time.

The Battery is new and no fuses blown.

Anybody has any ideas what else I can try.

Thank you
Ponniah

Hi you may try Television's idea of :

1) take of the grunding wire off in the batter.
2) taking out the combo relay from the socket again
3) use a carpet needle to close the legs inside the socket a little bit, each and everyone of them.
4) put the Relay back and see whether it will work for your car or not.

the legs and the connectors rubbing with each others for years may create some bad connections now and then. I tried this Televsion instruction and it work for my car !

you may check deatils with televsion if you want

Sounds like a possible SAM module fault. Get the fault codes read. It is a difficult one that.

Thank you ,bernardtam & BlackC55.

I will try Television's idea, I went to MB Dealer to replace Instruments lights that were burnt out (Cost £79.98), service staff mentioned that no error codes detected, I was told that it will cost to fault find the problem.

Hence I am hoping that one of your suggestions might work for me before I spent that hard earned money
Best Regards
