Just wondering...trying to find the best spec E320CDI, and looking for some essential bits and pieces.

Many seem to have electric seats, but not as many appear to have the memory facility, which is a necessary perk as far as I am concerned.

Does anyone know if it's possible to fit the memory bits to an electric seat to obtain this working feature?

Cheers

Paul

Hello Paul,, where have you checked on this as many MB dealers info is not correct and computer generated.

To save running round and being disappointed I got to the point that I asked for the vin number and fed it into this site, its good for cars up to 2006 and it will tell you all about the car and the features

There are quite a few about, and I wouldn't by choice have one without memory seats now. As it is very much a buyers market I would search around until you find one and be prepared to travel for the right car. Try and get photos of the interior of the actual car because dealers will say just about anything to get you in the door.
I think the seats are different as well as the door controllers so it wouldn't be an easy conversion IMO

Thanks guys.

Getting pictures sent would be ideal - if any of these traders would reply to my emails!

I'll just keep searching then. I know from experience that some people don't like to disclose chassis numbers etc. Prior to buying my old 1968 Jag 420 (sadly now gone) I asked the owner for the chassis number. He was very reluctant, probably thinking I was 'ringing' a similar car or something!

There is no problem with MB's as the VIN is in all of the screens passenger side bottom, and they can be taken from a Tesco car park

True, but if they're going to give you the vin, they might as well have a peek inside and see if the controls are on the door and just tell you that. I must admit I like the memory pack in mine and would look for the same again. As has been said, a buyers market and often the descriptions on the web sites are wrong, plus not every car in stock is listed so it's always better ringing and speaking to a salesman. Tell him what you're looking for and see what he's got. A friend wanted a very tricky spec (E320cdi Elegance, xenons, sunroof, memory seats) after 4 weeks of searching he found one.
