Considering the success of my other thread in getting the right answer then I thought I'd mention one other long standing fault that I have with the switch that adjusts the electric mirrors. All buttons work except for 'Up'.

I removed the switch from the dash and disassembled it (was a bit of a pig, with loads of hidden clips and strange fastenings). Anyway, cleaned the contact pad up and freshened up the circuit board bit with electrical contact cleaner and all was well for about three days. Then it stopped working again. Occasionally if I push really hard or catch it at the right angle (when bored at traffic lights or in heavy congestion) I sometimes get it to move. Any ideas where I can go from here? I don't fancy spending £150 at a dealership for a replacement unit.

My guess would be a dodgy soldered joint on the switch pcb?
