Hi All,
Is it possible to set the car up so the mirrors will automatically move to the closed position when the ignition is turned off?

Not as far as i know, Can't on mine. I believe you can on the new E's and I've seen some options on newer C classes I've had on loan, it would be in the settings section on the computer if yours can.
Do yours work ok ? Mine are sluggish and often need a helping hand.(possibly as I rarely use them).

Hi, Mine work, but sound as if they are really having to try their best to move in or out. I would have liked them to close automatically because i can guarantee when i forget to put them in, that will be the time they get knocked off!!!

I understood the folding mirrors is a factory option and not something that can be set up afterwards. On my price list it was an optional extra......bit saucy to charge for a software option if there is no hardware change....

Olaf,
I believe the option was to have them or not, but facelift cars (yours?) should have them as standard as mine does. I've never seen a W210 with auto folding mirrors though so I'm not aware that this was available on any.
As an aside, does anyone know of a way to lubricate them ? I believe the motors they installed are underpowered, hence they tend to struggle. Perhaps this is why they didn't make them automatic.
