I have a 1999 E280 with electic seats. When the left seat is moved backwards, the headrest goes up! Can anyone suggest which connection in the system might be incorrectly connected?

Hi David. I don't think its an error. I have memory seats and they do exactly this - and lower on being moved forward again. I imagine the system is set to assume that the further back the seat, the taller the driver and so compensates to put the headrest at a suitable height to avoid whiplash when demolishing lesser beasts in a collision.

On memory seats, there's a control to adjust the headrest, not sure about standard (part electric) ones though...

Thanks for that. However the driver's seat doesn't do the same. The problem only started when the agents were trying to set the left hand mirror to turn down to watch the wheels when reverse was engaged.

OK all you do is to release the memory set the seat to desired position, that includes head rest and store on a number. As´no one else drives my car I use the three positions to give me 3 instant different drivable positions.

....just don't have a visitor in the passenger seat who tries to adjust it manually! Thanks anyway for the suggestions.
