I hope this doesnt upset anyone but i would keep the car in the original condition as that is what people buy.......if it had been converted as new then it would be original and unique.
i think part of the ownership experince (fun) of having a car over 20yrs old is being annoyed by all the follibles of it no doing things automatically for you.
so my view is....if you want self opening roof....buy new......and leave the old alone........
altho i do undertand what an annoyance it is....just smile, and have a laugh next time you see a Morgan pass by....that guy will have had the same trouble you are having, but he will have had it just opening the door.....bet he is enjoying himself tho.......
I have to agree with my learned friends. In our household we have a 107, MrC loves the open top, claims to be unable to lift such a heavy item up and down - so she bought an SLK to get the best of both worlds. The only possible route to an electric option is if MB ever provided it, and I dont think they did. Dont know how long you have had the car but it does get easier with practise, especially in the rain
Putting the hood up and down is a doddle its getting it latched can be a bit of a pain. Now an electric hard top, thats the way forward, try putting one on be yourself without scratching the paint or putting your back out.

i've only had the car 2 weeks.....yesterday was the first time i took the hard top off and tried the soft top out. maybe it'll get easier after some practice!!
still want that electric soft top though....im sure i seen one advertised somewhere.....
