electric steering lock w204 c class c220 cdi

Hi,

Anyone knows someone who can come out and fix my electric steering lock ,coming up as faulty control module, no dash lights also , steering lock is in off positon ,
its a w204 c class c220 cdi 2010,
within the west midlands area

I had this problem about twelve months ago. It was the cheap Chinese motor that failed-common problem.

Very important that you disconnect the battery now so that the lock does not engage; you are really in trouble if it does, as you will not be able to press in the release button to free the module housing from the steering column, as then lock will have to be cut off.
The motors are readily available on Amazon for about £10.00. Time consuming to do, the column has to be dropped and the bolts are fiddly to get at.
Four pins hold the module cover together. They need to be removed to open the cover and the motor can then be replaced.
