Hi all,

One of the window motors stopped working.
I took it apart and found the brushes have snapped.
Does anybody here knows where I can get the brushes?
It is a 1995 W202.
Thanks very much in advance.

2002 SL500, 216 CL500, all fully loaded
These are not sold on their own, you can buy brushes from garden center firms, drill repair shops,, just get a couple with the right size of spring and the brush can be filed down to size, do take the sharp corners off so that they slide easily in the holder

Located some brushes from the local drill repair centre. They are not 'exact' match so spent some time sanding it down to size. Soldered them in and refitted. Working perfectly ok.
One other question. The window comes down with no problem but it is a bit slower when going up. Which part of the mechanism should I lubricate or adjust?

I would,nt think it would be the mechanism if you have fully greased it up its more than likely the window binding in its channels they could be slightly out of line failing that you could use some P.T.F.E. spray the rubber channels where the window moves that includes where the channels run down into the door too.

There is an assistor spring to counter some of the effects of gravity, but any parts that slide may benifit from lubrication. The felt slides/guides that the glass runs in can get worn and become grabby, take care in choosing a lubricant for these since oils and the like may destroy the moulded rubber body some special window lubes are available from the better car accessory shops.
