Hi

I have an 88 300TE and both the electric rear windows don't work. Been through the threads but I can't seem to find my answer.

When I press the switch from the centre console there is no sign or noise from the motor, this applies to the door switches as well.

I've read that it might be the regulators needing to be lubed up, but can anyone tell me what this looks like or even better have some sort of picture. What kind of lube do you use? WD40??

How would you test if is the motor or the regulator and is this a common problem for both not to work?

Thanking you in advance.

Thanks Teky

All the fuses are ok because both my front windows work. My fuses are G, window lifts front letf and rear right. H, window lifts front right and rear left. Sorry I did not say that it is a 4matic.

Any other clues pls??

sounds odd then for both rear windows to fail i care to bet its the child safety lock switch that stops the kids from playing with the windows

No checked that too. Do you think it's the motors? How can you test if the motors are working or not? :?

you would hear the motors click when you prees the window button, you could try one of the other buttons to test if its the switches i would also ensure the child saftey switch isnt shorted, and you could put a new power supply to each motor to confirm whether they are bad

The thing is, I can't hear anything with the motors. Nothing not a sausage when the buttons are press. However I might check the cables running to door to see if any are broken. I suppose I will have to take the paneling off to have a nose. Do you have to dismantle the child switch to test it? As you suggested it maybe the child lock switch that has shortend.

Cheers
