Hi,
The electric window on the passengers side on my W126 was stuck, I thought I had to replace the window motor or the entire mechanism with motor.
I removed the door trim and got a mate to operate the switch whilst I tried to force the window to operate - no luck.
Went to my local garage (which I've been using for years) - the mechanic looked at the problem for about 5 sec, then told me to operate the switch - while he gave the window motor a WHACK with a rubber hammer
Motor started working, and the window could be operated again.
The explanation is that the coals are prone to get stuck to the commutator on the motor in moist environments if it isn't used regularly.
Using the rubber hammer principle and then applying some white silicone grease on the scissor mechanism might avoid the need for changing the window motor/mechanism.
Hope this can be of help to other Merc drivers with the same problem.
Regards, Hans
