Hello All,

My C180 has recently developed a problem with the wipers.

With the switch turned off, the wiper will turn on by itself and sweep the windscreen maybe once or twice. On some days, this behaviour occurs as much as once every 10 minutes and on other days, it may not happen at all.

Has anyone ever come across this problem or give me some clues to help diagnose where the fault lies?

I'm guessing that the fault could lie in the stalk switch, relay or motor. Without having spare parts to swap in and out, is it possible for me to check whether or not one of these components have failed?

Having done searches on other users with intermittent electrical problems, I've heard others mentioning the 'SAM Unit'. Can someone explain the purpose of the 'SAM unit' and whether or not this could be a likely culprit?

Thanks in advance,

Tim
