Electrics Control Box? Switch LEDS. W208

Hi
I have been trying to get to the bottom of the lack of backlighting on all the centre console switches and gear selector on my W208 CLK Convertible.
I have got lights everywhere else incl heater dials etc... It it is just all the switches above the heater dials (eg heated seats etc) and the switches by the gear selector (eg windows) and the gear selector itself. The on/off lights work eg on heated seats, boot release, hood switch etc.. So I cant believe that the LEDS have all gone.
The car does seem to have some form of retro fitted HID headlight bulbs (ie very white light - I wonder if these can play havoc).
Anyways, does anyone know if there is some form of control box? I suspect that this must be the prob???
All the fuses are ok.

sorry to hassle you Malcolm. Any thoughts on the control box for internal led lights. I am convinced there is a lighting control box that needs repair / replace. thanks

Fuse number 7 controls the lower control panel along with the outside mirror adjustment, left right window, switch illumination reverse gear recognition and trunk lid remote.

Fuse number 8 also provides switch illumination along with mirror defrost,power window,covenience and central locking

Fuse 9 also controls some illumination along with lots more things

If the fuses and other funtions are OK then it must be a local fault in the lamp at that point

Cheers - all fuses fine, all functions are fine but not a single lamp works (out of some 15 or so).
