Have been reading the threads on electrical faults and would like some guidance.. Mercedes 300 sl 24 - R129 model
All started when went on holiday for 2 weeks, battery went dead flat, allsorts stopped working!!

Temp gauge shows +57 degrees. Drivers seat stopped going forward & backwards. Noticed the other night, when was driving the car (rare occasion), when I put on the indicator, the seat belt sign lit up and all other indicators lit up momentarily. they went out again straight away, then was ok if tried indicators straight away again. Next turn applied indicators again and same thing happened again. Operated the hazards and same again.

Was considering a bad earth, but which one. Then read about the OVP? relay. Would this happen with this relay?. If the answer is yes, where is it located and waht does it look like (standard square 4-5 pin relay or double pole relay?)

Also, cruide control doesnt work, could this be related? I wasn't expecting it to be, but may as well ask. Can only live in hope!!

The fuses under the bonnet can wear, sounds silly check to see if you have a small groove on the blades of the fuses. You have a 5 point multi earth under the dash, could be loose, your high current relays are in the back above the battery behind the panel

Just wanted to say thanks. Your advice was spot on..

Fuses were ok, i.e not blown. Replaced and things started working again.
Not got to bottom of cruise control yet, but will investigate further as time allows.
