Hi all,

My C320 (2001 C203) has been developing funny quirks in the last 8 months. Brake lights intermittently come up as gone on the warning display, then disappear again, then the left indicator goes, then comes back. My drivers side electric seat doesn't work and the passenger front window now refuses to go down. My garage told me that the fuse box in the boot (is it called an SCR or something?) is a common failure on these and that they should be replaced. Is this right and has anyone else had similar snags? What can I do to rectify the situation.

The rear SAM (signal acquisition Module) is often to blame for this on a 203 car

Hi Malcolm,

Thanks, are they expensive and easy to fix DIY or should I call in a specialist indie to do this?

Its only a matter of putting it in where the other one is, and nothing special needed,,its just a plug and play I think they cost around £200

They actually need coding by a Star for correct fitment.

Sorry about that, but is only mins to fit, but you do need an Indie to code it

I spoke to my local indie and he said that this only applies to models after 2002. Will I have to disconnect the battery as well? I gather getting that wrong causes a whole heap load of expensive damage to diodes in the alternator or something.
