The eml has come back on... Every f time I come to France. Been thru with icarsoft no faults. But, if I stop on scr no faults but if I clear anyway eml goes out. Till next time. Ideas??

It sounds like a code your iCarsoft cannot read - is it up to date? STAR maybe? Otherwise it is guesswork

Try the OBD mode on the icarsoft rather than the MB specific services route. If there is a MIL the code has to be visible here.

Well it says MIL off, so assume your EML is not on now? I guess you cleared codes?

Father in law just brought his S212 around with the MIL on. I get the icarsoft plug in to see 8 historic codes on ECU. No clue as to which caused the MIL as they are all historic.
Switch over to OBD mode and I can see the freeze frame data of the fault that caused the MIL.

Now I know that OBD uses service $1 to read fault codes and the MB diags use service $19, but I expect $19 to have more info than available than $1. So is this just another short coming of the icarsoft?

So next time you get the MIL read codes and the freeze frame in OBD mode first to see if that gives any more insight.

No codes present to clear, however only way to get rid of eml is go to scr reduction. Check codes, none clear anyway eml straight out for 100 miles of 4 miles. It's not load related and I have yet to see it come on in any particular driving condition, seems completely random.

Could be worth getting in the engine bay and checking all connections / cleaning with contact cleaner. That said MB connectors are pretty robust.

I will be. No issues since mid May. I was told I didn't need to disconnect adblue in boot. Others I hear have. I may try that.
Maybe with plug still in can bus passes no data info and that triggers eml.
I sure wud like to forget it.

Well. Still at it. But know DPF seems OK. Held it at 2300rpm on way back from friends DPF on way 98% got back 8%
Also eml on After 15 mile normal driving cleared and nothin so far o. Way back. So it's not eng load related or throttle closed related . So still no faults indicated. Try xentry on next decent day. Not bad now but not inclined to be half way thru job and get pssd on.

Could well be a DTC that needs a few cycles of pending faults to trigger an actual.

fingers crossed.

MBs are pretty reliable when throwing a code. I have never had a DTC which was erroneous and once cleared problem "solved"

Well yest eml on in 1 mole and again in 38? Today Granville and back nothing. Whatever eml didn't stop regen. Seems to happen every 360 km or close. I check DPF for regen from when icarsoft shows over 300 since last
Spoke to mapper says dissconect adblue in boot. Looked nothing seen anyone know where is on w166. If not I get xentry out and look. If under car and not easily seen no chance at mo to get under it.

It does not show eml on when dash does. I see there is still adblue data even after delete. Temps, adblue levels so I will find plug in boot and lift it off see wot happens next
I can see no situation that triggers it other than it often comes on within a mile of the house. Yest 4 times in 30 miles but not in the following 30 or at all in 5 miles today. And nothing in 500 miles after delete.
As is often the case exentry refused to work when needed. It was fine in late May early June when I first tried to get to bottom or this drama. Now telling me go find key, again!
I will briefly be back in UK after d doors completed. Prob 2,3 weeks I will be going back to mapper if dissconect don't solve it. I was told at time no need, but hav read most do. In a Yr I should have finish major hauling here then it's bye bye ml. Shame as very pleasent to be in but I don't want any motor with need to be plugged in, be it computor, power point or updates and all I want on dash is speedo, tacho, oil press, water temp, and charge light, anything else I will do as always, work it out myself with no f need to go to any dealer or software . F em.
