Engine bay clean

Started to clean my SLK engine bay last nite - cleaned away the dust very carefully and the paint and plastics are well preserved. just used hot water, sponge and a cloth. Didnt use washing up liquid or degreaser as i believe both contain salts which dull the plastics.

Applyed Autoglym to the painted metal surfaces and it looks like new

I am not oiling the engine bay up like a crap valeter though

Done with TFR Silk non caustic detergent and then sprayed with WD40 to dry out the electrics and acts as a preservative to prevent rusting of any nuts, bolts and cables . Not bad for a 20 year old engine.

Was only a small camp today - not like the one i moved back in January at Tachbrook park in Leamington - 26 caravans plus lorries/transits etc..

Traffic film remover....... for high quality cars and leaves no water marks, paintwork friendly. Use a slightly stronger solution for chassis and engine bay.
