Engine bay insulation 300sl

Hi to everybody,

While doing some work on my 86 300sl I noticed that the Insulation which is stuck to the inside of the hood is starting to disintegrate.

Anyone know of a relacement source and with what would be best to use to glue it?

If you don't want or need to match the original, then there was mention in the sunday times last weekend of a company based in North Manchester who sell car insulation kits - they also do a blanket with lead in the middle which is very effective. I've given my paper away now , but perhaps some other kind memeber will look in their paper sack and dig out the "in Gear" part - tey are mentioned in the questions/answer parts. they supply only or will fit if you want. I've spoken to them and they sound like they know what they are doing .Just can't remember what they are called !!!
