Hi all,

Just joined the forum today. Drive a C180 Elegance - 51 plate.

As the title suggests, this warning lamp is on and has remained on for a few days. Went to the Mercedes garage, who promptly said that it would cost me £115.50 for them just to look at it!

Car is only a few months out of the warranty period.

I asked whether it was serious or not and got the non-committal "could be"!

The car is running as normal.

Any advice as to where to go from here? Anyone else had/have the same problem?

Thanks a lot

Goldie, Welcome to the forum.

On occasions when car is left witout driving for a while this 'Check engine' light will come on. You can have it set in an MB garage for £35 + Vat

OR:
Disconnect battery for a few minutes.

After reconection, you need to do a window reset.

Window reset is found on several threads in electric so I need not repeat

Edit: I'm going to watch the match now:grin:

Hi,
you posted a problem with the above a while back about an engine diagnostc indicator light appearing on your control panel - you were recommended that you ve unplug the battery and then do a window reset to fix this. Did this work as I have the same light on my dash and would love to fix it!
