Engine diagnostics warning lamp

Can anyone tell me the purpose of the yellow diagnostics lamp . The handbook says to take car to a Mercedes dealership ASAP. 2 week waiting list for appointment but told OK to drive the car. It will cost £144 for them to run diagnostics check plus cost of repair of fault. No messages on .multi function display a f car seems to be running OK

The warning light could be for many things. You need a code reader connecting ... preferably a Merc specific one .... to get a code. You must have a Merc independent local to you that doesn't charge £silly an hour like the main dealer .

Thanks will enquire at other garages. The warning lamp is on intermittently on for a few days then off for couple of days but mainly on

well from their point of view ,the only likely outcome in the cost of continuing is an increase in the final cost. rub hands and wait.
