Hi all you reliable MB owners, like mberks who has been more than noting for me and my car. I have not been in here since february. Tells a lot don´t you think....? But now Im having this problem and it increases day by day. My 280 has automatic transmission. When in neutral on red light engine starts to slow down like cylinders are dropping out. When I put it in Park engine like wakes up again, but needs like a "tickling" to get rev. up to normal. This problem like gets more common in wet weather or high humidity. yesterday and to day I was in trouble driving up hill, like it lost all power without though shutting compl off !! I put it in auto transm. in 2nd and just managed to reach to top of hill with hazard lights on and lot of angry drivers taking over.
This problem has been occational for last month or two but never as severe as now and when asking sombody long ago, bad disturburator cap was mentioned. Does that make sense ??
One more thing and silly quis:. Where is the pollen filter located ?

With thanks in advance

You do not have a distributor so you can ignore that.

You need to have the diagnostic codes read and go from there.

the moisture and humidity sounds like the culprit

and that probably means the famous biodegradable disintegrating ignition wiring and leads. Search the forum on ignition and see what crops up

Problem solved. Im ashamed for driving it like this for more than year.

Took my car to MB specialist workshop yesterday.
They fixed it. Nr. 1 Oxigen sensor was foulty R/R
Nr 2 all sparkplugs R/R Nr 3 All leads to spark plugs R/R
nr 4 ign. coil for cyl 3+4 R/R Total cost,: 4000 euro´s
Now its like im driving totally different car. Shame on me for using it

I alway heard things were very expensive in Iceland and I think that the cost of the work you've had done proves it.

Is everything Mercedes related that expensive?
