I have a problem with a 1999 E320 CDI where the turbo boost does not operate on an intermittent basis.
The vehicle has covered 86,000 miles.
The main dealer used his diagnotic equipment to confirm that low turbo pressure had been recorded on the on-board computer but was unable to find the reason. Of course when the dealer examined the car the fault had rectified itself.
In carrying out my own literarature search I found an Alldata site recording that an earlier model had suffered a similar problem and it was given the reference DDAF07_10-U-600MAY 97.
I suspect that the problem is something to do with the "wastegate and actuator operation" ( reference www.speedways.co.uk) or some solenoid or pressure gauge sticking somewhere.
Can anyone offer an opinion?
