Hi,
Can someone please advise me regarding how to go about with my mercedez gla 220 diesel?
I tried to switch off cruise control but the speed limiter goes on. This happened a few times and now the engine management light has turned on.
How can I be sure I have turned off both cruise control as well as speed limiter?
Thank you,
KKD

use the brakes. see what happens on a clear ,dry road , see how car behaves after.. dont touch cruise/limiter. would have thought all back to brain in seat control, nowt else.. if that fails ??? try batt disconnect for ten min re connect try again further issue look indie in yr area.

You can't really turn either of them off, which ever is elected is on stand-by ie if you've pressed the end of the stalk & the light is on limiter is engaged when you flick the lever up or down. Likewise if the light is off, then if you flick it up or down you engage cruise. To knock either of them off, you press the brake pedal. (or foot to the floor & hold it to knock the limiter off)

.... and now the engine management light has turned on.
....
just a coincidence? You need a code reader to talk to the car .... preferably something a little cleverer than a cheapo generic reader.

Does pushing the lever forward not disable cruise? And pulling it towards you resets it to the last speed.

It disengages cruise but doesn't turn it off like you can with other cars.

It's all in the owners manual....

surely when you get in car and start nothing cruise /limiter is on ?? and unless you select as you say it would remain off .so if faullty the temp solution is not to use it . if the OP is saying it comes on by itself ,thats another matter ,did i (often do ) miss somat ?

Thank you so much for all your replies. It looks as though engine management light going on at the same time is a coincidence. I will keep you informed of the progress.

Definitely a coincidence.
I suspect what you're thinking is speed limiter is really limp mode.
