Engine management light on

I have a clk320 cab which was left out in the sun a few hours, when i came to start the car the engine ran very high i turned the car off this happened again but the third time i started the car it seemed alright. The concern is the engine management light is permately on now when the car is running, has anybody else had thir problem also am i causing any damage if i carry on using the car until i get the problem sorted.

seeing as you have no clear current faults, get the codes read off by an ODbII scanner or Star to see whats going on

Is the car driving normally with full power, but as Mark above it should go onto STAR
