I have a 2002 C180 sports coupe kompressor. It failed the control technique in France due to an emission problem. This was corrected by Mercedes.
Prior to taking it back for the CT the engine management light came back on. Back to Mercedes who fixed the problem. Return home, EML comes back on.
The car has now been in the garage for 8 weeks. It would appear the management system keeps giving them different problems. when they appear to have
solved it the EML comes back on. Any ideas? Has anyone had similar problems.

Welcome.
With that information it's difficult to assess- has it been on a Star diagnostic, and if so what codes are showing?
the C180K contains an engine which has known and catastrophic potential timing chain and sprocket failures which is another worry.

France. Replying to John Laidlaw, as the car is in the main dealers I assume they have the right equipment to try and solve the problem.

2002 should have a M111 engine rather than M271

well spotted.... :)
But I think the OP has the W203 Coupe, he mentions 180 Kompressor , so I still think M271....
It was crossover so might be either....
