Engine management light.

Good Morning, I own a 2019 CLA 35 amg, and today the engine management light came on after driving for 10- 15 minutes. At this moment I noticed the engine hadn't warmed up either. It seems the engine temp increases when idle and then reduces when moving. does anyone have any possible ideas as to why?

Hello and welcome

It can be a number of different things, without getting the codes read it’s difficult to advise. Emissions equipment are a favourite for triggering the EML.
As it’s a 2019 I’d be getting it back to Mercedes under warranty sharpish

Yeah currently in Ireland so going into the nearest dealer tomorrow so fingers crossed

Sounds to me like the thermostat has failed and the ECU has detected an excessively long warm up time.

When it moving, air is flowing through the radiator, when stopped, this does not happen, allowing the water to get a bit hotter, drive on again and the temperature will drop. Thermostat most likely, but as lost Kiwi has said, a scan should identify the problem
