What was the original fault ?

Some faults don't latch the EML and will automatically clear if the fault is fixed

If it had a repair why did the garage not reset the error?

Some codes will reset after three successful start/warmup/stop routines.

Mine pops on and off at will. No set time for on or time off. Gone through scan, codes, change parts but still comes on as it pleases. Anyway, in answer to your question. Any independant garage should switch it of for around a tenner, but if the fault is not fixed, it will return in a few days. Most DIY scanner will do this when you remove the fault code.

might be a boost leak or from circa 2012 - you may need software updates to the engine mangement system - it "appears a few bugs are in there that accidentally" and the only way they go away is when Mercedes get caught and are legally ordered to remove them by the EU or USA, (opps I didn't mean to add the bold bit)
