Hi guys,

I've just bought a 2001 CLK 200k. It's in great condition both inside and out. However, the engine management light came on a few days ago. i took it back to the guy i bought it from and then we took it to a few garages who put their equipment on it. The diagnosis showed a misfire on 2 cylinders. The general consensus was that it may be a problem with the coil packs. Now the car drives fine, i've even taken it to London and back, (250 mile round trip). The only thing is, when i'm at lights or in traffic, the car shakes ever so slightly, sometimes you can hardly notice it. We've changed all the plugs and 2 of the coil packs. The light hasn't come back on yet but that's because i haven't pushed it. I can't keep driving it like that though as it's a Kompressor and i want to give it some gas on the odd occasion.

Has anyone had any similar experiences? Does anyone know if it could be a more serious problem? I'm thinking of pushing it, then if the light comes back on i'll have to take it to a main dealer and get a full diagnostic done.

Any advice/help would be very much appreciated.

Kind regards,

LS.

Coil pack are a common problem, you have got to take it out for a hard drive, it was made for that, you will never know if you dont.

My dog shakes when she sees a rabbit and I won't let her run after it - perhaps your car feels the same!
