engine managent light

hi,just drove to into my local town and noticed the engine management light on my dashbord...car seems to be driving ok,but i will take it for a run later...
car is e270 cdi diesel-

can anyone please advice on what damage can be caused if i continue to drive,and what problems am i facing as far as repairs are concerned...

You can drive it OK,,, the lamp may go out,,,could be a fuelling fault/sensor mixture thing.

A good indie can put it on STAR to see what the problem is
