Engine misfiring when cold

I have A class 170cdi 1999 V reg, the engine is misfiring when cold, any suggestions?

now thats not one which is asked to many times, take a guess at a leak in the fuel system, letting air in, then in the morning your having to bleed the air out, only a guess!!!

Glow plugs perhaps, any lights on the dash?

no warning on the dash, the car starts ok in morning/when cold.

read in the past they suffer from failed o-rings on the fuel line & air get's in which will self bleed as cole say's
