The standard oil used by MB is Moble 1 cheaper than MB on Ebay or the Web and outlets like Cosco.

although alot of delaers have now switched to castrol slx and even magnatec.
My dealer has been servicing my 124 on mobil 1 since day one, and a few years ago they switched to slx.

I always use full synthetic. Brand, not so fussed but I buy recognised brands like Duckhams, Esso etc. Most importantly I regularly check my fluids, even though my car uses very little between changes. I change oil and filter regularly, and I never have trouble with my motors.
Quality engines like in the Merc will last almost forever if the fluids are kept up to them.
