engine oil

Hi all newbie here, just a thought about engine oil. I know there is lots of info out there but I've got a 320cdi Eclass (W210) year 2000 and I was wondering about what type of oil to use. I've seen some Mobil 1 turbo diesel 0W 40 (MB229.1- 229.5) and what is puzzling me is that it is 18.00 euros for 4ltrs. Are there two types of Mobil1 diesel oil because i've seen it advertised for a lot more than that. Or should I go and buy a load of it before they notice they've priced it wrong! One more thing are the oil filters paper or fleece type for my car?

The cheapest I've seen is Costco, £20ish for 4 litres. Where have you seen it advertised for less?

Oil filter is paper on mine, will probably be paper on yours as well.

If its genuine fully synthetic Mobil 1 0W 40, snatch their hands off. It's usually £30/£35 per 5 litres in accessory shops.

Apart from Costco at £20 +VAT (£23.50) it's usually best part of £40 in most places in the UK, and that's for 4L, not 5.

I was told a while ago that Mobil 1 and Mobil 1 Turbo Diesel are in fact exactly the same oil but in different packaging. I don't know that that's true, but the reference was Mobil's data sheets, and when I looked (couple of years ago) they were identical.
