Hi everyone!

I have a W124 300 D Turbo, wich has a strange problem. The Engine Overload Protection switch doesnt seem to work well.

The switch itself does work in fact (i've tested it with a small battery, and i heard that it clicked several times, so according to the manual, if the switch clicks, than its good) but it seems, that it always in engine protecting mode, so the boost pressure from the turbocharger is cut, that means, the injector doesnt give more diesel when it should (when the turbo kicks in), so the car runs like a naturally aspirated 300 D.

Now I tried bypassing the overload protection switch. I simply pulled off the electrical connection, so it couldnt cut the boost pressure. That way, the car ran perfectly, gained a lot of power, i could feel that the turbo is working well.

Iam a bit concerned about this thing, so i dont use the car with the switch bypassed, becouse i think that could cause serious problems.

Does anyone know what is the thing that powers this switch?
Did anyone have the same problem what i have now? (if so, how did you resolve it?)

Thanks for helping
