2008 MERCEDES C-CLASS C180 KOMPRESSOR SE (MANUAL / PETROL)
Dear Folks,

Hope all is well. My car is a 2008 Mercedes, CK 180 Kompressor

The car's MOT and B services are due shortly. Unlike the last time, when they picked up a rotting subframe, this time I hope there won't be any surprises.
I had to replace or re-do the whole undercarriage at a cost of around 4500 quid.

Please see some of the pictures enclosed within, of the front engine. Could anyone spot anything wrong in them, that may need repairs?
Any advice would be much appreciated. I have an industrial endoscope, which can take pics of the insides, if it makes a difference.
Kind Regards

Mel

1) give it a good clean

2) serpentine is looking too shiny ie worn.

3) PAS reservoir looking wet, maybe after 1) no issue.

is there any problems in particular you have or just a general question.

Thanks everyone, it was just a general query. The car runs well, for now.
This is my first car, so knowledge of parts and functions is limited. Thankfully, armed with your responses will contact the garage to get a proper look.
Usually when I drop the car off for servicing or mot you can tell they have not bothered to have a good look around as parking light bulbs and dash board messages are not even been looked at. Last time, within 3 months of the MOT they informed me that 'Hey by the way your subframe is about to fall off'

Is this something I need to do now or could I wait till the first week of March, when it's due for the MOT?
Do you have oil in the connections ?
Where are these connections? Anything I can do in the interim? Like clean them or cover them?

The two big round things on the top front of the engine , unplug the electrical connection and see if oil is in them .
You can’t leave it , it can get seriously expensive !!!

Just seen a video on how to change the serpentine belt,

Do you think it's worth asking the garage to change it? The car is now 14 years old. Unlike the subframe, don't want it to go bust, before it gets repaired

Could you kindly mark this on the pictures?
I could clean it or use masking tape to cover it in the interim?

If any of the plugs circled red have oil in them it needs cleaning out.

The oil comes from the two round cam adjusters at the front of the engine and leaks by capillary action into the ECU if left long enough.

If its at the big ECU connection it's a pain to get rid of and will need copious amounts of brakekleen or similar to remove it.

You can get oil blockers for the two cam magnets which simply connect between the existing loom and cam adjuster.
