Hi,
I have just fitted a 2nd hand engine in to my 208d sprinter van, with the engine now up and running i find that it blowing blue smoke out at start up and on increased acceleration, the seller of the engine says the cylinder head gasket was replaced before i got it and there may be oil residue in the bores and it will clear its self after a good run.
Is he just blowing smoke in my face :( ?

Anyone with any experience on this ?
your input would be very much appreciated.

Regards
H..

Thanks for the reply the engine was in in need of work and has since been replaced by a good low mileage unit which we fitted yesterday,

The problem i have now is the vacuum hoses i cant remember which ones go where and until i get the right pipes on the correct hoses the engine wont turn off with the key

any assistance would be much appreciated.
