ENGINE SOUND DEADENING/PROOFING

Very quick one, do petrol 1900 190es have sound deadening pads as standard attached to the whole span of the uderside of the bonnet?

as no one else has repiled, i will provide my instict:

No, doubt it, usually on the 123/124 models, the padding was only put on bigger engine sizes.

Im not sure tho.

thans for the reply, i just had a nagging feeling that after getting it back form a botched respray the padding was missing

mines a 190e-1.8 1993 model

definitely no soundproofing on the inside of the bonnet.

bmw 530i-1988-had a hood pad.-for soundproffing

Is your bonnet original? If it was replaced, say after an accident, the sound insulation may not have been replaced with it.

hmmmm good point arnie, but i think the pics one kind cap sent convinced me it never had the full padding in the first place, it is an old model, and has the padding but just at the end opposite the grill....thanks for everyones help....still have to get back to the guy though who botched the spray job!
