Not really too much help, but there is a bit of a 'thump' going on in addition to the diesel sound. I would have the 'codes' read and the injectors tested as a start. What mileage is on the car?

100k mileage, and yes if you put your ear to the speaker you can hear an additional noise to the diesel sound.

To add,

When the vehicle starts a vehicle regen, the noise seems to disappear then reappear and few mins after.

IF it is the follower problem, the sooner you get it done, the less likely you would need to replace cam set. It will just get louder.

Would you know why the noise goes when the car starts a dpf regen but comes back?

I’m totally sure what the noise is, needs a better look at.

It's in the garage today so I'll update if anyone has the same issue in the future

Update: garage had it all day and didn't manage to do much, they think it's the swirl flaps but need more time to look at.
Bit frustrated. I've taken the car back

I've noticed that once the car starts a regen, the sound seems to disappear almost like something has closed then reopen short while after and the noise returns
