Morning,

So I've owned the car for almost a year now. Recently under light acceleration a low speeds, the car feels like it is surging. I mean very light acceleration.
However, it also does it under heavy acceleration and is really more noticeable. From about 2700rpm onwards, it feels like it wants to go, holds back, gives a little more, holds back etc.

I've just replaced the inlet manifold as I had the snapped missing bolt and my mpg over the last got so bad I had to look at resolving the issues.

Car has full service history, 2011, 250cdi with just under 145k miles.
No smoke from the exhaust.

I only have icarsoft scanner which isn't great, to be honest.

What are these twin turbos like for removing? I'm thinking along the lines of the vnt being gunked up?

I e checked the actuators, and both hold vacuum. Haven't checked the vacuum hoses persé, however there is plenty of vacuum left in the reservoir... So any leaks would deplete this?

Fuel shows as being replaced on paperwork! But I'm not entirely convinced the latter services we carried out in full. I have my reservations.

Any other ideas of pointers, please let me know. I love the wagon, but getting frustrated a little now with it.

Cheers,

Dan

Get it to a reputabale indy, guessing and advice is only going to cost you big money based on your assumtions already.

Scanners are only as the good the operator in dechipering the codes vis a vis the symptoms.

Hence the need for a good indy

I'd check the basics like boost leaks etc. Check the hoses for splits. Failing that, you will need to drive it whilst logging things like boost pressure and exhaust backpressure to see if its reacting to high exhaust backpressure etc.

It's been on a smoke machine, no leaks detected since manifold was replaced. I have physically removed the boost hoses and checked then over as well, prior to the smoke test.

But the logging idea is a good prompt! Cheers.

I'd rather try and resolve myself first, before resorting to chucking the car to an Indy for inspection.

I'm capable with the tools and enjoy the work.

Cheers
