Hi,
I posted a thread a few days ago. i added this fault as a secondary item so there weren't many posts except for Elsie tanners - thanks.
I bought a C320 Avantgarde 2001 before Christmas. it drove beautifully with no niggles. when I bought it there was only one key the standard black one. A couple of weeks later the garage (not MB) gave me the key that htye had ordered from MB - a nice shiney chrome one. Obviously I switched to using this one.
Two weeks ago I had a problem when my wife has been out in the car and i was due to go out in it an hour later. I went to start it and it turned over but wouldnt start it just stopped. I thought it was the fact it was low on fuel. Anyway I got a jerry can and topped it up. It then started. The next day my wife was going to use the car to take her mum out. again it wouldn't start. Half an hour after she left in her car it started.
I am quite sure the car isn't allergic to my wife as it then happened to me in the local town. I phoned the garage and he suggested locking the car unlocking and tried again - it worked. He thought it was a problem with the new key and suggested I keep the othe with me until I could take he car in.
10 days ago I was outside a friends house and when I went to start the car it turned over but wouldnt start. After several attempts I had to call a mechanic and arrange for it to go back to the garage it came from. when the mechanic arrived it started. The garage had he car for a week and couldnt repeat the fault.
I got the car back on Tuesday and last night (Saturday) it did it again. I had driven it two hours before, locked it properly and started it within 20 seconds of unlocking.
This morning I went back up and it started fine and has done since.
I am taking it back to the garage tomorrow has anyone any idea why this might be happening - key, immobiliser, allergy to my wife and I?
