- A180D (W176)/2015/OM607-C(K9K)
All, I'm a first time Mercedes owner of a 2015 A180d model with OM607-C engine. Back in July in less than 24h after I bought, the engine won't start. There's no cranking noise, i.e. the starter doesn't engage the engine. I've found a way to start the engine eventually, however, the preglow indicator lamp is always on.
Here are the error codes logged:
P08106 was logged first, followed by P1BAC4 then P1BEB3 then multiple P84003 were logged and a last P08106 was logged.
The garage identified glow plug for cylinder 3 as the culprit and confirmed they've changed it and had no issues starting the engine since July until yesterday when the weather dropped to 13 Celsius degrees and the glow plugs were engaged to do their job (heat the diesel). I've got the exact same issue again.
Can the kind people who are expirienced in this forum help me with the following:
1. Is there a way to clean all the engine faults without a OBD nor removing the battery completely?
2. Could this be a corner case for a memory corruption in the software which occurs only when the glow plugs need to be used? I.e. I can change all the glo plugs and still have the same issue at some point - after let's say 60 engine starts and temperature is under 15C?
3. How can I check what are the latest versions of all software components for this model without taking it to the dealer - BWM gives you all access online while Mercedes this model doesn't support the phone app, however, I've registered the car online with Mercedes and I'm still unable to see the latest maintenance software versions for this model?
Thank you in advance,
The Pianist
