Got the following error code on my 2010 W204 Cdi 2.1:p2454, DPF Differential Pressure Sensor Circuit Low
Cleared the fault and went for an Italian tune up, about ten miles at 3000rpm.
All good, for about fifty miles but it's come back again.
I guess I was hoping it was a DPF that needed regenerating.
Beginning to think that it may be a faulty DPF pressure sensor or tubing blocked.
Anyone any experience of this and could point me in the right direction on how to fix this.
I'm used to keeping a range rover p38 on the road, so not frightened by spanner work. But totally not used to these engines so don't know where to start looking.
Thanks in advance

Common fault, you need to replace the DPF pressure sensor and flash the ECU software.......we prob see 3-4 every month.......

Is that a job that you could do if I came down to you in a day?

Yes of course, we would have to star test it to confirm fault but easy fault to replace and up-date software.......

Free tomorrow?

Many thanks to Colin at MBS Southampton.
He read the codes stored using Star and diagnosed faulty DPF Pressure Sensor.
Changed sensor, forced regen using Star, oil and filter change.
Running like new again.
Can't recommend MBS Southampton highly enough

Hello,
Sorry to hijack this thread.
A friend has asked if I can change his Dpf pressure sensor for him.
I'm sure it's not in the engine bay after searching in Google.
I just need to know which side it's accessed from.

Thank you

Usuallly stuck at the back of the airbox onto a bracket (left of ur engine bay if ur car is UK) . u should be able to see it easily enough. Its got 2 hoses stuck to it. Very easy job to replace. Ide recommend puting heatsink compound all over the top of it where the bolt attaches to it. They get quite hot and ive replaced quite a few that have simply overheated because of their location. Always make sure you clear error codes after replacing aswell.

Is the sensor in the same place on a 2013 Vito?

Colin I have got the same issue P2454 DPF Differential Pressure Sensor Circuit Low and P2463 The soot content of the particulate filter is not OK in my 2013 W212 2.2 CDI 175. Do I need to change the sensor? Could you do the job during a day? I am 60 miles away from you.

I have had the same fault for last 1. 5 years now had the sensor changed twice ECU flashed. It comes on about 10 times a year. Now a days I just clear fault and carry on. Don't seem to have issues with soot accumulation as I do 400 miles a week. Done at least 25000 miles since it started. Iv tried to investigate the problem but at a dead end with it.

2454, DPF Differential Pressure Sensor Circuit too Low. Merc W204 CDI 2.1 2012 - I've just had a new pressure sensor and new wiring loom for mine fitted. I've also had a remap with egr delette at the same time. I drove about 5 mins down the road and boom error code again. I cleared the code and it has come back on yet but I haven't booted it. When I connected my MB Reader and completed a live data the reading for the sensor was -0.01 and didnt move when revved. This is strange considering its just been replaced. Am I missed and ECU software update maybe?? Can someone adivse. I will phone the garage back on Monday if it persists to see if they have updated the ECU but as far as i'm aware they don't have a star machine.

Does your reader do dpf regens ? The icarsoft kinda adapts the new sensor, otherwise the ecu always reads the last sensors values.

Hi everyone :) today I had fault codes P245414 and P245328, OM651 engine. After 200 km and a brief stop, it turned off. I checked live data and they seem fine. Probably it's the differential sensor at the end of his life. My question for the most experts is: having the car 90k miles, is it a good thing to replace it even if I'm not 100% sure that it's the problem? Years ago I heard that due to the high failure rate it's recommended to replace it anyway after about 60k miles. Is it really that common or should I wait until the problem is evident again and do a correct diagnosis of wires, etc? Thanks for your opinion :)

What does the live data show it should be around 0.005 on idle and should change under revs. If it doesn't change then that would be the obvious guess.

Hi and thank you. First time I checked it was 0.005 bar at idle like you say, varying a little when under revs. Second time about -0.007 bar at idle, going up to about 0.022 when driving and revving. For now engine light is off
