Anyone got any idea why the two alerts mentioned above have come on 3 times in the last 6 months ?

My MB is a 2002 C180 manual and this has only happened three times although in the past I have cleared the faults with a reset and it's cleared the problem for a short time.

Also I have been advised there is a decent garage in Carluke which deals with MB's, anyone got any idea what this place is called and where it is ?

One of the most common reasons is the esp module on the front axle or a SAM they can be intermittent on a 203,, they should have left a fault code

There are some electronic units on the 203 that can cause this,, the faults codes that were erased tell you what is wrong, so it needs to go back onto STAR again once the fault has come back and have the codes read out

Chances are is a brake like switch, £10, other main thing is a rpm sensor, (wheel speed sensor) or ESP control unit duff, would think the first is the most likely!!

ESP unit yes, dont think that the brake light switch affects the 203, if it does then I will buy you an ice cream :D
