I have just successfully replaced the throttle body on my w204 c220 saloon which as extinguished the engine management light on my instrument panel. However, i now have another problem. As a result of replacing the throttle body my vehicle is now emitting large plumes of excess smoke via the exhaust system when cold. As soon as the engine gets up to temp the smoke disappears. I have tried turning the ignition on to position two and leaving it for 20 mins to see if the vehicle electronics would solve this issue but without success. Any comments as to how i can solve this issue would be greatly received.
Try throttle reset? Ignition on to position 2 do not start engine Press throttle to floor for at least 10 seconds Keep foot down and switch ignition off Then release pedal. Wait a couple of minutes Start up and see if any change? Sent from my ONEPLUS A5010 using Tapatalk
Old wives tale. Does absolutely nothing. You see this suggested on every car forum for every brand which would suggest every manufacturer uses the same programming and components manufacturer (which they don't).
Sorrio.I reckon efforts to get phones, laptops, car electronics to behave as designed takes up significant amount of our time, and takes a good bite out of our wallets .
Did you play around with the butterfly in the throttle body when you were installing it ? I cant see it in pictures I have seen on the net, but do you remember how many wires were there on the electrical plug connecting to the throttle ?
