I have a 1980 450SL on which I have just replaced the exhaust system. I used rubber exhaust mounts initially to hold the exhaust there (like a rubber ring - Halfords universal - all one can find). Unfortunately the rubber mounts keep snapping leaving the exhaust hanging! Are there any extra strength mounts available that will not break under duress? Where do I get them?

I got a pack of three rubber exhaust "donuts" as I call them from the MB dealer. Cheap enough.
