They have said everything should be fine as its only a sensor which doesn't effect the car

Even if its a pre-catalyst oxygen sensor that has failed then the car will fall back to an open loop control of the fuelling. This may be less economical and with slightly worse emissions than when in closed loop, but it shouldn't harm the car.

Modern car engine systems store a series of parameters on fuelling, throttle position, air intake flow, temperature, road speed etc. as you drive. In this way the car adapts its base tune to your driving style. Just drive it as you would normally, the engine management will use the adapted tune values as default and not adjust them further with any real time calculations.

If its a post-catalyst oxygen sensor, then again don't worry as that is mainly used to determine catalyst health.

All modern cars will over fuel and tend to run open loop on engine start for a short period. This not only gets the car started but is also intended to warm up the catalysts.

Mines going in for a replacement bank 2 Nox sensor monday FOC under goodwill. I hope they have the parts! He did say as a precautionary measure they would clean the adblue nozzle as this can get crystals on it when a Nox sensor fails. Dont know if thats true:rolleyes:

Its definately true, that the tanks crystallise up leading to a need for a replacement tank, good to see MB are taking some precautions now.
