Exterior tempreture sensor over reading!

Hello,

I have had the complete front of my car painted bonet, both wings and bumper on my C class w202 220 cdi, It looks really good but I noticed a problem on the way home that my exterior sensor was saying 30 c, it seems to read fine on slow journeys but when on the motorway it keeps going up.

Would I be right in thinking they may have not put the sensor back in correctly and it's picking up the heat from the engine bay?

Any Info would be much appreciated.

I reckon you're right. The sensor should live in the grille within the bumper, in a kind of pointy thing (sorry to use these technical terms).
