Hi everyone

I am new here so forgive if my qustion sounds silly.

I have just bought a C200 Kompressor Avantgarde SE (2003) and having problems folding the wing mirrors.

I checked the manual and it shows a pic of the control area above the ignition with the left->right->up->down arrows and the left and right buttons to select the wing mirror you want to adjust.

The picture in the manual also shows two more buttons below the said up/down control that indicates these are used to fold the mirrors electronically. The problem is my car do not have those two extra buttons so I can't work out how to fold the mirrors when I park and the wing mirrors cannot be folded manually by hand.

I also want to know if my model car suppose to have these buttons. If so I will have to go back to the place I bought the car - having left it for a week before collecting it and ask them to change the facia?

Welcome to the forum.

Some one will give you a better answer than me, but it looks as though your car does not have the folding option, and that could have been an extra from new.

But you can fold them by hand, they will be stiff to overcome the initial locking pawl, once they start moving they will fold in. All MBs will do that

Thank you.

I did try folding the wing mirrors by hand. I took it all the way in but the spring was tight yet I did it. It went straight back out to its original position?????

I have included a pic below of the panel in my manual yet not on the car???? I have labelled the areas of concern.

Actaullay... my mistake, it's the two buttons above that is not on my control panel not the two below as circled.

Kompressor, you sure? The buttons you say are not included are those that select which mirror to adjust with the adjustment button. Those just above said button are the ones that fold the mirrors.
The other "missing" button is for the headlamp washers

Yes I realised my mistake. The two below is substituted for the two buttons above on my control panel. So I guess my C200 Kompressor Advangarde SE don't come with those buttons then as standard? The manufacture make is 2002/3 I think.

I don't have the head lamp washer or the parking sensor either; I feel cheated.
Do you know if my model come with the options as statndard. I left the car in the dealer's storage for a week.

OK I will do it.

My log book says the car was first registered in 2003.
BTW mine is the sport pack version yet important options like head lamp washer, wing mirror fold and parking sensor are not included.

This was suppose to have the extras the standard don't come with....No?

Sports pack, in my model (2005) gave sports seats, cross-drilled discs, bigger callipers and stiffer suspension. I don't have headlamp washers. Door mirrors do fold by button ( and now automatically, after COMAND upgrade) and had parking sensors retro fitted.
Its all depends on the age of your car....

Malcolm does the last statement include 1998 W210 E240 Classic?

Can you manually fold wing mirrors on 2003 E-class

Hi folks,
I've just recently bought my first Mercedes Benz; it's a 2003 E200 Kompressor, and so far I've learned that it'll not be my last Mercedes—really like the car.

Could someone please help with my query?
Is it possible to manually fold in the wing mirrors?
I know electrically-powered folding wing mirrors are an option on the E-class, but my car does not have them.
The owner's manual only refers to electrically-powered folding wing mirrors, but mentions nothing about being able to fold the mirrors manually, so I'm at a loss.
I've tried to fold them just by pushing them inwards with my hands, but they're extremely stiff, and I give up after they've rotated perhaps 30º—I'm just afraid if I force them any more that I'll damage or break them.

Any help for a learning newbie? Would be very much appreciated.

Regards,
Ken.

Hi Kompressor

I have a C230K Sport and mine has none of the extras you mention either. They were probably options which the original owner thought unnecessary.
